Rick Howe, along with his wife Leigh, founded Howe Development Corporation Inc. in 1998. Prior to establishing Howe Development, Rick was the Vice President of Development and Leasing for Squitieri Associates, developers of the Oaks Mall in Gainesville, Florida. For over twenty years, Rick has been extensively involved in the shopping center industry working on various projects both in and out of the state of Florida.Howe Development believes in community involvement and is a member of both the Gainesville Builders Association and the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce. Rick is the immediate past president Gainesville Builder's Association. He is presently the chairman for the Alachua County Planning Commission and has been an active participant in making revisions to the Alachua County Comprehensive Plan. He is also a member of the Alachua County Sheriff's Advisory Committee. He is currently working with Habitat for Humanity on a 60 home subdivision. Rick is a lifetime Gainesville resident and a current board member of the Council for Economic Opportunity. He has served on the board of the Volunteer Center of Alachua County and numerous other local fundraisers for charitable organizations such as Children's Home Society and the American Cancer Society.
